RALEIGH, NC. – Paragon Commercial Bank announces the appointment of Phillip R. Jurney as its Charlotte president.
RALEIGH, NC. – Paragon Commercial Bank announces the appointment of Phillip R. Jurney as its Charlotte president. Jurney is responsible for the Greater Charlotte Region with a focus on both loan and deposit relationships with commercial and real estate companies.
Jurney brings more than 19 years of banking experience and leadership to his new role. He comes to Paragon from First Charter where he last served as the Executive Vice President - Commercial Banking Executive for the bank. His responsibilities included the oversight of a $1.5 billion commercial portfolio.
In reaction to this announcement, UNC-Charlotte finance professor Tony Plath stated that “Phil Jurney is the most productive and energetic banker in the state of North Carolina and any bank would be very lucky to have him leading their efforts in Charlotte.”
After receiving a B.S. in Business Administration from The Citadel, Jurney continued his education with an MBA from UNC-Charlotte and studies at the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. A life time resident of Charlotte, Phil has given back to his community through his board involvement with Junior Achievement, the Small Business Enterprise Loan Fund and the Meineke Car Care Bowl. Phil is also involved with his church. Phil is married to his wife Martha and has a son, Taylor (13) and a daughter Rachel (11).
