Matt Davis left Centura Bank in 1998 with Bob Hatley to help start Paragon. He started as a lending officer and became the chief credit officer in July 2002.
A native of Louisburg, Davis obtained a BA and MS in Business Management from North Carolina State University. He spent two years as a volunteer missionary in South Carolina for his church before entering graduate school.
From 1994 to 1996 he worked as a corporate banker for Wachovia Bank in Charlotte with marketing emphasis on operating companies between 10 and 100 million in revenue.
In 1996, a career move took him to work for Bob Hatley at Centura Bank in Cary as a commercial account officer, focusing on lending to commercial businesses and real estate.
Davis has been involved in local Rotary Clubs and Habitat for Humanity. In addition, he has served as vice president and board member for the Risk Management Associates local chapter.
He and his wife, Angie, have three children - Camden, Avery and Addison.
